Asthma UK's Chief Executive, Neil Churchill

Chief Executive

Asthma UK’s Chief Executive, Neil Churchill, joined the charity in August 2007.

Before joining Asthma UK, Neil was the External Affairs Director at Age Concern England where he was responsible for policy, public affairs and information services. Previously, Neil was Deputy Chief Executive at Crisis and he has also held senior communication roles at Barnardo's and the Policy Studies Institute.

John Price is the Chair of Asthma UK. He is Professor of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at King's College London, and Clinical Director of Children's Services at King's College Hospital.

John Price is Professor of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at King's College London, and Clinical Director of Children's Services at King's College Hospital.

A consultant paediatrician specialising in asthma for 20 years, John has published numerous research papers on childhood asthma and has considerable experience of asthma education. Previously, he has been Chair of the British Paediatric Respiratory Society and of the Specialist Advisory Committee to the Royal College of Paediatrics.

John joined Asthma UK's Council of Trustees in 1990 and was a member of the Research Committee from 1990 to 1993.

Chief Medical Advisers

Asthma UK's Chief Medical Advisers are Professor Ian Pavord – from Glenfield Hospital – whose focus is on secondary care, and Dr Mike Thomas – a practising GP and clinical fellow at the University of Aberdeen – who concentrates on primary care issues. 

Trustees

Asthma UK is a membership-based charity managed by a council of directors (known as trustees). The Council comprises up to 12 trustees elected by members for three years and up to four trustees co-opted by the elected trustees. All must be members of Asthma UK and receive no remuneration other than for professional services when instructed by the charity.
