For parents: your child has asthma

Two boys sitting down holding a skateboard. So, your child has asthma? You're not alone – over 1.1 million children (that's one in 11 children) have asthma in the UK. But don't worry. With a little help there's no reason why your child can't take control of their symptoms and continue to lead a full and active life.

In this section you can find out more about medicines and treatments, how to manage your child's symptoms and our Kick Asthma adventure holidays for children with asthma - and lots more.

The rest of this website provides further information about triggers, tools to help you and your child, healthy lifestyles that can be beneficial for people with asthma - and how you can get involved with Asthma UK as a supporter or as a member.

Children's asthma survey 2009

Asthma UK are currently developing personal asthma action plans for children with asthma aged 8 – 11 and we would like to get their views in an online survey.

Every person with asthma should have a written personal asthma action plan, this is a written record of all the information you need to control your asthma

The children's asthma survey is designed to get children's ideas about the type of action plan they would like. If your child is between the ages of 8 – 11 we would love to get their views.
