For example, The Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe are supporting Asthma UK with a generous £10,000 grant to help children with asthma. Their donation will go towards the Kick Asthma Holidays.

Kick Asthma Holidays are much more than a recreational break for children with asthma. They provide vital and potentially life-saving skills to help the children manage their asthma more effectively, build confidence and self-esteem and enable them to take part in sporting activities which their asthma may have prevented them from doing before.

Thus, supporting the Kick Asthma Holidays meets the objectives of the Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe which aims to build better futures for children by supporting health and educational programmes.

Anne Breary of Asthma UK’s Corporate Fundraising Team said: ‘Corporate funding from supporters such as the Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe is essential in ensuring we continue to reach as many children with asthma as possible and help to give them and their families a better quality of life in the future’.

The Pfizer UK Foundation has given a grant of £33,000 to fund a project to help children with asthma in Sandwell, West Midlands. The Pfizer UK Foundation supports tailored projects aimed at addressing health inequalities in local communities which are led by those most familiar with local unmet health needs.

npower have also recently made a generous donation of £5,000 towards Kick Asthma Holidays. npower gives to projects meeting their strategic themes of health and education and the Kick Asthma Holidays meet both of these objectives.

npower’s contribution will enable six children with asthma who may otherwise not get the chance to have a holiday at all to participate and benefit from the fantastic experience of Kick Asthma.

By donating to Asthma UK not only will you be contributing to your company's corporate social responsibility programme: you will also be giving something back to the UK-wide community.
