Asthma Review Pack

In partnership with Education for Health, Asthma UK is developing an Asthma Review Pack that we hope to pilot early in 2009. The aim of the pack will be to support healthcare professionals in providing a high standard of asthma care and forge stronger links within primary care in the UK by improving asthma reviews. We hope:

to promote asthma reviews as a worthwhile clinical service through the use of clinical support, education and by setting standards
to include the best asthma review materials available
to ensure we develop something which is easy to use and easily updated
to ensure people with asthma experience positive results from attending an asthma review
to improve the clinical outcome for people with asthma leading to a reduction in exacerbation rates and hospital admissions.

We envisage that the pack will contain various practical tools, including a model of good practice for an asthma review.

To help us ensure the pack is a useful and helpful tool, we invited healthcare professionals to complete quick questionnaire. The closing date for responses was 22 September 2008.
