These guidelines are to help local authorities, pre-school groups, pre-school management committees, workers in pre-school and nursery and parents to develop effective policies for dealing with asthma. The guidelines aim to promote a working partnership between all concerned, resulting in the development and successful implementation of an asthma policy.

The ideal way of providing written information about a child with asthma for pre-school group, such as the asthma medicines they need to take, their triggers and emergency contact details.Pre-school cards are available in packs of 20, in English or bilingual (Welsh/English).

The Medical Conditions at School Partnership is a group of organisations, including Asthma UK, working in collaboration to support schools to provide a safe environment for children and young people with medical conditions.

The conditions covered are: 

  • asthma
  • anaphylaxis
  • cystic fibrosis
  • diabetes
  • epilepsy.
