REACH (Regular Exercise for Asthmatic Children)

January 2008 - March 2010

Aims: To help children and their families to develop the confidence to have control over the way their asthma affects their level of physical activity, resulting in future self directed physical activity and improved quality of life.

Breathwell in Sandwell

£30,000 | Sandwell PCT
April 2008 – December 2009

Aims: To reduce the number of Accident & Emergency Attendances and Hospital Admissions by under 18’s as a result of Asthma. Funding from the Asthma UK Challenge Fund will be used to help fund a part-time Asthma Specialist Nurse, who will focus on developing, supporting and implementing better asthma services for children and young people in Sandwell.

Asthma Diagnostic Clinic

£45,800 | Glenfield Hospital NHS Trust, Leicester
November 2006 - May 2009

Aims: To set up a dedicated rapid access clinic to allow an accurate diagnosis to be made and provide GPs with treatment advice based on a detailed assessment of airway function and inflammation. The effectiveness of such a service will be demonstrated in order to ensure uptake by local PCTs and elsewhere.
