Asthma UK researchers

Thoughtful scientistAsthma UK has about 40-50 research projects on the go at any given time. Each project is led by one or two highly experienced researchers who are based all over the UK in universities, hospitals and GP surgeries.

Each scientist is investigating a particular aspect of asthma, aiming to reduce the impact that it has on people's lives.

Professor Ian Sabroe

Professor Ian Sabroe is based in Sheffield. His aim is to create precisely targeted treatments that can reduce the severity of asthma attacks.

 

Dr Jennifer Cleland

Jennifer Cleland

Dr Jennifer Cleland is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and a Clinical Psychologist. Her aim is to improve the care that people with asthma receive when they visit their GP or asthma nurse.

Professor Sebastian Johnston

Sebastian Johnston is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Imperial College London. His main area of research is acute attacks of asthma.

Sebastian Johnston is a Professor of Respiratory Medicine. His aim is to develop new treatments for asthma attacks caused by viruses such as those that cause the common cold.
