Kick Asthma mini-marathon school challenge

Scoot running, Kick Asthma mini-marathon'All children benefit from exercise, including those with asthma. The Kick Asthma mini-marathon is a fun way for your school or group to get fit and active while training to complete your marathon challenge.' Paula Radcliffe, Marathon World Champion and Asthma UK Ambassador.

What's involved?

The Kick Asthma mini-marathon challenges your school or group to work together to cover the distance of a marathon, 26.2 miles, in any way you choose - from running to walking, or swimming to egg and spoon – and over as long a period as you want while collecting sponsorship money for Asthma UK.

As an added incentive for taking part in this year’s campaign:

  • every child taking part will receive a Kick Asthma mini-marathon certificate
  • every child raising at least £15 will receive a Kick Asthma mini-marathon medal
  • every organisation raising £400 or more will receive free games equipment worth £80

Why take part?

On average, three children in every classroom have asthma. That’s over 1.1 million children in the UK. Asthma UK is the only UK charity dedicated to improving their health and well-being, and our mini-marathon campaign will help to get all kids active, and help those with the condition to take control of their asthma.

Asthma UK is committed to providing new and improved services for children and young people with asthma through its Kick Asthma initiatives. These include the Kick Asthma website and Kick Asthma holidays.
