Comment from Asthma UK Northern Ireland on the threat to medical equipment supplies in Belfast
15 January 2009
Joan O'Hagan, Director of Asthma UK Northern Ireland, says: ‘We are outraged to hear that the health of people with asthma is being put at risk in Belfast. Around 2,000 people are admitted to hospital in Northern Ireland for their asthma every year so it’s vital they have access to specialist, life-saving equipment such as nebulisers. We demand that the Belfast Trust and DHSSPS take urgent action to ensure people with asthma get the treatment they need.’
