Putting Asthma in the Limelight 2010: Resources for journalists

Putting Asthma in the Limelight 2010 will run from 1-9 May, coinciding with World Asthma Day on Tuesday 4 May.

This year fundraisers are invited to host dance events, comedy nights and karaoke competitions, and the highlight of the week will be the Big Sing Song, the UK's biggest karaoke party.

At only 12 Shannon Batt-Hilliard knows how frightening asthma can be. When she was younger she was often rushed to hospital with severe asthma attacks and since the age of five she has acted as a carer for mum Glynnis, whose asthma is so life-threatening she needs round the clock care.
