Apply for funding

The application processes for the 2009 research foundation grants and the Asthma UK Travel Awards are now closed. We will not be inviting further applications for any type of research or conference funding until at least October 2009.

Applications from healthcare professionals who applied for one of our new Asthma UK Travel Awards to attend the 2009 European Respiratory Society Annual Congress in Vienna are currently under review. The award winners are due to be announced in early June. The 2009 foundation grant applications are also currently being reviewed and successful applicants will be informed over the summer.

Research funding

Asthma UK currently provides funding for project grants, fellowships, two professorial chairs and a number of studentships. We run an annual project grant round, referred to in 2009 as the ‘foundation grant’ scheme, and typically call for fellowship applications when an existing fellowship is due to finish.

Conference funding

In 2009 we launched Asthma UK’s new Travel Awards scheme providing funding for UK based healthcare professionals to attend the European Respiratory Society Annual Congress.
