Are you Alert to Asthma?

Alert to Asthma Scotland logoAsthma UK Scotland has been awarded funding from the Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland to expand our Alert to Asthma project.

This project aims to reduce the risks to children with asthma by teaching staff at schools and nurseries how to spot and deal with asthma attacks, and how to ensure children with asthma live a full and active life.

There 72,000 children in Scotland receiving treatment for asthma and 24% tell us that they have missed six or more days of school in a year because of their asthma. If you work in a school there are probably two children with asthma in every classroom.

To address this problem, we are offering staff at your school a free information session. The session will be run by a local asthma nurse and will provide staff with the knowledge and confidence to ensure that every child with asthma has a chance to participate fully in school activities.
