The Bupa Great North Run route starts in the centre of Newcastle and runners head out of the city over the Tyne Bridge. Be sure to look out for the Red Arrows above as you do. When you reach mile 12 you will be greeted with views of the North Sea, which will give you a boost for that final mile to the finish line.

We will support you every step of the way. All Asthma UK runners will receive:

• Running advice - from the type of trainers to wear, to training programmes and stretching advice. Every runner will be kitted out with a full training schedule.
• Fundraising pack - this is crammed with useful hints and tips to help you raise money for Asthma UK. We have years of experience in helping people raise sponsorship, and if you have any questions please just give us a call.
• Exclusive Asthma UK running vest.
• A post race reception where you can put your feet up, re-hydrate and meet up with friends and family!

Own place runners

The ballot entry for the Bupa  Great North Run 2010 event is now closed. If you entered then Click here to see if you were successful in securing your own place. Should you be lucky enough to gain your own place in the Bupa Great North Run then we would love to have you join our team. There is no minimum sponsorship target - all that we ask is that you raise as much as you can.

Looking for a guaranteed place?

If you are unsuccessful in gaining your own place then not to worry! Asthma UK has guaranteed places in the race to offer our supporters. Asthma UK will be allocating places on a first come first serve basis. All supporters are encouraged to register now for one of our guaranteed places and should you be successful in the online ballot then we will refund your registration fee or put this towards your sponsorship. The registration fee for one of guaranteed places is £42. We ask that all guaranteed place participants pledge to raise a minimum level of sponsorship of £325.
