Marathon
The Edinburgh Marathon is approaching its seventh year and a record number of entrants are expected, along with a record finishing time. The Edinburgh Marathon offers runners the ultimate personal challenge with a spectacularly scenic route, which takes runners past many of the city's famous landmarks and tourist attractions.
The Edinburgh Marathon is more than just a race – it is a festival of fun with entertainment throughout the course and finish line celebrations. Thousands of runners will be raising much needed funds for charitable causes.
How to enter
Asthma UK has a number of places available. Please note that if you are allocated a guaranteed place from us, you must pledge to raise a minimum of £500 for the charity. We will also require a non-refundable registration fee of £40 to confirm your place.

The Hairy Haggis Team Relay
The Hairy Haggis Team Relay was introduced to give athletes of all abilities the opportunity to run along the same course of the marathon without having to run the 26.2 miles individually. Teams of four will run, splitting the marathon distance between them, with the longest leg about eight miles.
If you are allocated a guaranteed place, we will ask you to pledge to raise a minimum amount of £600 in sponsorship. There is a non-refundable registration fee of £40 to secure a place for your team. To get an application pack email events@asthma.org.uk.
Scottish Half Marathon
If you are not quite ready for the full marathon and don't want to run in a team, then how about joining us for the Scottish Half Marathon? This event is an excellent way of capturing the big race excitement of the Edinburgh Marathon and the grandstand finish at Musselburgh Racecourse.
If you are allocated a guaranteed place, we will ask you to pledge to raise a minimum amount of £300 in sponsorship. There is a non-refundable registration fee of £20 to secure your entry. To get an application pack email events@asthma.org.uk.
