We are now accepting applications for the 2012 ING New York City Marathon®. This is one of the world’s largest and most famous road races, and one that many say is the most exciting in the world, with unrivalled crowd support. Starting on Staten Island, runners cross the huge expanse of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into the diverse communities of Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx, crossing the finish line in Manhattan’s beautiful, autumnal Central Park.

'While fundraising, one of my friends told me about how Asthma UK had helped his family, providing opportunities for thePicture of Sally Footem to participate in sporting activities in a safe environment and providing support for his parents, meaning that he and his sister, who both had severe asthma, led happy and active childhoods. It was so nice to have a real and personal reminder of how the money we were raising would help to change people's lives.'
