There are several different types of collection. Boxes can be displayed in the home or in local shops, or used to collect money in the street outside supermarkets, in shopping centres, pubs or stations.
These collections provide Asthma UK with a valuable source of regular income to help fund our vital services for people with asthma.
Please note that people under 16 cannot collect money, although they are of course free to help!

No collections planned near you?
If you can’t make it to one of above collection days, you can always organise your own. Contact the Community Fundraising Team to order our street collections fact sheet, which gives you step by step advice on how to plan a collection.
For some collections you will need a permit from the council (this applies to street collections and some shopping centre collections). However for collections at your local supermarket all you need to do is get permission from the local store manager.
Collecting at home
One of the easiest ways you can support Asthma UK is by using one of our home collecting boxes.
These small cardboard boxes are designed to be kept in your home, and can be used to collect loose change - or even as a 'swear box' to collect fines from your family!
Order your box now, or e-mail community@asthma.org.uk to request an information sheet.
Shop collecting boxes
We have a great team of supporters who have put collection boxes in shops and public places all around the country, and we are always looking for more supporters to join the team!
These boxes are a great way for us to promote the charity and to raise money at the same time, and they are easy to manage. All you have to do is:
- find a place for your box
- ask permission to display it
- ensure the shop manager has your contact details in case of any queries
- visit the box every few months to empty it
- send Asthma UK the money you raise
- remember to return the box to us if you will not be able to visit and empty it any more - Asthma UK cannot visit and empty collecting boxes.
