Rory Bremner announced as guest speaker for Asthma UK's Gala Evening 2008

Taking place in the Ballroom Suite of the Dorchester Hotel in the presence of our President, The Rt Hon Sir John Major KG, CH, the Asthma UK Gala Evening 2008 promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s inaugural ball.

We are delighted to announce that Rory Bremner will be giving the after-dinner speech.

We are on course for a sell-out event, although a limited number of tables are still available (details below).

Alongside our individual supporters, tables have been confirmed by the event sponsors, GAME, raffle sponsors OC&C Strategy and table centre sponsors Clifford Chance. Tables have also been confirmed by Barclays Commercial, RBS, Deutsche Bank, Zygos, Brunswick, EA Consulting and Insight Public Affairs. We are grateful to all who are supporting this special occasion.

The evening will commence with a champagne reception followed by a four-course dinner and Rory’s after-dinner speech. There will then be an exclusive 'money can't buy' auction, followed by music and dancing into the small hours.
 
Auction prizes already confirmed include:

• three prizes of a week’s stay in a luxury holiday apartment in Paphos
• an overnight trip along the south coast in a yacht
• a morning on the gallops and breakfast with Alan King Racing
• a twilight after-hours private tour of the Natural History Museum
• a tour of a British vineyard
• Director’s Box tickets for a Premiership match at London Irish
• a pair of exclusive best seats at the Royal Albert Hall for any performance of the winner’s choice  
• a range of signed sporting memorabilia including signed breeches from three times British Champion Jockey, Frankie Dettori.

A couple of tables remain, at £1,500 for a table of 10 and £1,800 for a table of 12.There are still sponsorship and advertising opportunities available, including the opportunity to advertise in the souvenir programme for the event. The Gala promises to be a fantastic evening with all funds raised going towards providing essential services for people with asthma and their families.
