Your adventure begins in Lukla, where you will trek to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar allowing you plenty of time to acclimitise to the altitude before setting off on the trail to Everest base camp.

This outstanding trek will take you through the lush valleys of Sagarmatha National Park with time to explore its villages and monasteries.
After acclimatisation at Namche Bazaar your trek leads gradually uphill from Thangboche where you will reach Everest base camp and the highest point of the challenge at Kalapathar (5,545m).
If you have enough energy reserves you can aim for the highest point at Kalapathar (5,647m) with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers including Mt. Everest.

You can choose to extend your trek and go on the Chitwan National Park safari trip.This Everest Base Camp trek is one of the many open challenges offered by Charity Challenge. They also have departures in March, May, October and December 2008 though mininum sponsorship and deposit may vary. More information can be found on the Charity Challenge website.
