Join an advisory forum

Asthma UK is offering people affected by asthma a unique opportunity to help influence the charity’s work.

Young Asian woman Would you like to advise Asthma UK on key issues affecting our work? Do you have views on the services that are or should be provided for people with asthma? Asthma UK invites volunteers to participate on our various forums and influence plans to raise awareness of asthma and its affects.

By attending regular meetings and contributing to email discussions inbetween meetings you can give your views on a range of asthma related issues from latex balloons to national asthma strategies on asthma management.

This role requires

  • A minimum commitment of 18 months.
  • You to have asthma yourself, or be a carer/parent of someone with asthma or a healthcare professional with an interest in asthma.
  • Attendance at meetings and participation in discussions.
  • An ability to get on with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • An informal telephone interview.
  • Two references (at least one must be professional).

Black and minority ethnic advisory forum: for people from Black and minority ethnic communities from across the UK.

Users and Carers advisory forum: for people with asthma and their carers from across the UK

Youth advisory forum: for 12 to 17 year olds with asthma.

Scotland advisory group: for people in Scotland only

Wales advisory forum: for people is Wales only

Northern Ireland advisory forum: for people in Northern Ireland only
