Kick Asthma holidays: volunteer

Could you volunteer at a Kick Asthma holiday and make a difference to children with asthma?

Kick Asthma holidays

Sarah Isted, one of the volunteers on Kick Asthma holidays. Residential Kick Asthma adventure holidays improve self confidence in children and young people with asthma (and related conditions) through a range of physical and social activities. They also allow them to find out more about their asthma and how to control their symptoms.

How do I become a volunteer?

Kick Asthma holidays are run by volunteers, many have asthma but not all. Volunteers attend a training weekend (see dates below) which includes learning about the treatment of children with asthma, eczema, anaphlaxis and food allergies.

'Having asthma myself means I can really understand what it's like. Seeing the kids just having fun and not worrying about their asthma is so rewarding,' says Sarah Isted a past Kick Asthma holidays volunteer.

All volunteer staff are selected on the basis of an application form and references.

If you are interested in volunteering for the 2008 holidays contact the Kick Asthma holidays team.
