Weekly Lottery winners' stories

Asthma UK is extremely grateful to all of our supporters who play the Weekly Lottery.

With your help we are able to help fund vital research and develop more effective treatments that can improve the lives of children with asthma.

Mrs V James won £2,000 on 6 November 2009.

‘My reason for playing the Weekly Lottery is that my grandmother had asthma, no other family members have it but I just feel it is a good cause.’

Mr R Mason

Mr R Mason won £1,000 on 16 October 2009.

‘I have asthma so that’s why I chose to support AUK. I thought that taking part in the Weekly Lottery was a good way to ensure Asthma UK received a regular income, rather than my need to win. I think Asthma UK is doing a fantastic job and I never expected to win.

‘My son has just invited me to Finland for Christmas so the money will come in extremely handy. Who knows how much I will have left after my trip so I may choose to increase my Weekly Lottery gift amount.

Thank you, that's the best news I’ve had in ages!’

Mrs P Pearce

Mrs P Pearce won £1,000 on 18 September 2009.

How lovely! No one in my family has asthma but I decided to play the Asthma UK Weekly Lottery after seeing a leaflet about it. The prize will be really useful especially as Christmas is coming up and I've got four children.

Mr T J Deeble

Mr T J Deeble won £1,000 on 14 August 2009.

I support Asthma UK as it's a worthy cause whilst at the same time incorporating the lottery and your chance to win a prize. I have no link with asthma, although I am a retired Doctor and I obviously previously treated people with asthma.'
