Kay Boycott – Chief Executive
Kay began her career in commercial roles for Johnson & Johnson, followed by 10 years in strategy consultancy for clients including GlaxoSmithKline, Nestle and Vodafone. She was also a Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair of NHS Hammersmith & Fulham Primary Care Trust for five years and a Trustee of Gingerbread.
Kay moved to the charity sector in 2009 as Director of Campaigns, Policy and Communications at the housing and homelessness charity Shelter and became Chief Executive of Asthma UK in October 2013.
Dr Samantha Walker – Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Research and Policy
Samantha joined Asthma UK in January 2011. A nurse by training, she maintains her research activity through an honorary senior lectureship (non-clinical) in the Division of Community Health Sciences, University of Edinburgh and has published extensively on asthma and allergy for over 25 years in high impact research journals.
Lindsay Gormley – Director of Marketing
Lindsay joined Asthma UK in June 2014 leading on marketing, digital and innovation.
A consumer marketer with a breadth of commercial, public and not for profit experience, Lindsay began her career in publishing, moving to a digital marketing agency during the dotcom boom working with start-ups, FMCG and pharma brands. She then developed behavioural change strategy for many government departments, including the first ever brand partnership work to stop drinking and driving and a teenage road safety strategy centred around mobile and digital. She won the Marketing Society Excellence Award while Assistant Director of Marketing at Barnardo’s.
Lee Green – Director of Fundraising
Lee has been a fundraiser for over 20 years and has worked for a wide range of charities including ActionAid, Sense, St John Ambulance and Action for Children. She joined Asthma UK in September 2014 shortly after her nephew’s best friend died of an asthma attack. She is passionate about the need to raise funds to increase awareness of the seriousness of asthma and for research to develop better treatments. Lee’s early career was as a teacher of English and Drama and a producer of alternative comedy.
Harriet Jones – Director of Finance and Resources
Harriet joined Asthma UK as Director of Finance and Resources in January 2015.
Previously, Harriet was Finance Bursar at University College School, a foundation of independent schools. This followed a period at the Home Office and various roles at the BBC over 9 years, most latterly heading up the Business Analysis and Planning team. Harriet qualified as a chartered accountant whilst working at Deloitte.
Michael Clarke – Director of Advice and Support
Michael joined Asthma UK in January 2017 and has spent the last twenty years leading digital content development and advice services in the BBC, digital agencies and higher education. He has led the creation and delivery of websites, face-to-face services, helplines and digital communities for companies ranging from the RSPCA and the BMA to British Airways and General Motors.
