As the only UK charity for people affected by all lung and respiratory diseases – from mild asthma through to lung cancer – the Asthma UK-British Lung Foundation Partnership is here for every one of them. Internal Communications Manager 

Are you an experienced Internal Communications professional looking for your next challenge?  We are looking to recruit our first ever Internal Communications Manager, who will report to the Chief Operating Officer.  This is an exciting opportunity to help guide and deliver an effective and engaging internal communications strategy across Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation. Your role will be to support the design, coordination and execution of all our internal communications and our employee engagement programme for the organisation.

You will help build a positive environment in which colleagues can thrive, feel connected and are part of one team. Operating cross functionally, you will develop, lead and coordinate the internal communications strategy and plan for the organisation with a campaign-focused approach. Delivering key communications messages to engage and inspire all colleagues, you will play a key part in developing our employee experience, working alongside our People team.

Location: Mansell Street, London. Currently working remotely from home in line with government pandemic requirements.
Salary: £35,0000 - £42,000 per annum dependant on experience

Senior Support Giving Officer (12 months FTC Mat Cover)

An opportunity has arisen to join our motivated and successful Supporter Giving team.  Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, your role will be to drive supporter engagement and encourage new and repeat financial support from individual supporters via online and offline channels.

You’ll be an experienced fundraiser or marketer with a proven track record of using a variety of direct marketing techniques and channels. You will manage content across various channels ensuring that relevant and engaging communications are sent out to supporters across various channels such as: email, blogs, social media, and video.

Salary: £30,000 - £32,500 per annum dependant on experience

Policy & Public Affairs Officer  

An opportunity has arisen to join our clean air campaigns team and play a key role in developing and delivering our clean air influencing strategy. Reporting to the Senior Policy and Projects Manager – air quality, you will join our small but growing air quality team at an exciting time for Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation.

We are looking for someone who has experience successfully influencing policy and working with politicians to make things happen. You should have a strong understanding of the political environment and how parliament works, as well as a good understanding of environment and/or health policy. You’ll be working closely with our regional policy and campaigns officer to ensure a consistent influencing approach across the UK and to support our network of around 1,000 clean air campaigners.

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 per annum dependant on experience

An opportunity has arisen to join our team as Head of Policy and External Affairs on a one year, fixed term contract (maternity cover). We are very happy to consider secondment opportunities for this position.

This will be an exciting year, for the recently merged organisation, as we start work on a new strategy .

This role will lead a busy, high performing team to deliver our key policy and influencing activities. You will be an experienced, empathetic team leader with the ability to manage staff at different levels of seniority, setting clear goals and objectives in line with our strategy and providing development opportunities.

Senior Media Officer 

Can you spot a news angle a mile off? Can you craft compelling statements and press releases that will grab journalists’ attention? Do you have strong contacts with national journalists? Volunteer Link Co-ordinator 

This is a fantastic opportunity to pilot a new model of engagement for the organisation. Concentrating on the North East, you’ll be at the forefront of recruiting and mobilising committed, motivated volunteers, so that they can provide invaluable peer to peer support in their communities. Alongside that, you’ll give these groups the tools and knowledge to fundraise and raise awareness of our work to ensure that they are not just sustainable but can continue to grow to the meet the need. An excellent communicator, you’ll bring together a variety of stakeholders, from service providers and healthcare professionals, to external support organisations and key volunteers to make a positive impact on lung health in the area.

Location: North East, (home based for the time being with access to an office space. Flexible working arrangements considered)
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 FTE (28 hours per week) dependant on experience

Communications Officer (Northern Ireland & Wales)  

We are looking for a new Communications Officer to deliver creative communications in Northern Ireland and Wales to enable the charity to deliver its organisational strategy in a cost effective and efficient way.

You will deliver an integrated social media and media relations service in Scotland which generates both reactive and proactive opportunities and raises the profile of Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation. Responding promptly and authoritatively to media requests, you will proactively identify and maximise media and social media opportunities across a range of outlets and channels. Ideally you will have a background in medical or science research and/or experience of writing about medical research.

Location: Home based in Northern Ireland or Wales
Salary: circa £26,000 per annum dependant on experience

Senior Health Campaigns Officer 

An opportunity has arisen to join our innovative Health Advice team.  Reporting to the Health Advice Manager (Products and Campaigns), your role will be to support the Health Advice team to produce excellent quality, clinically accurate, enabling and user-centred digital health campaigns content and digital products for people with asthma and lung conditions.
