Active fundraising

Organise your own active fundraising event

In 2017 we had over 100 fantastic fundraisers who organised their own active fundraiser! Our brilliant fundraisers walked, cycled, trekked and even abseiled to raise funds for our vital services and research.

Our Community team are here to support any fundraiser who wants to organise their own active fundraiser. If you’re looking to take part in an event that’s already been organised or already have a place please visit the events page.

Organise an active fundraiser and raise over £54 to receive one of our brand new Asthma UK medals to celebrate your achievement.

Why £54?

We want as many people as possible to commit to taking on the challenge of raising £54 or more to support the 5.4 million people in the UK with asthma. £54 could go towards helping research new asthma tests, to better identify treatments for people with asthma.

Raise over £54 through your active fundraiser and along with your thank you letter and certificate, we’ll send you an exclusive Asthma UK medal.

Need some inspiration?

Here are our top three favourite ideas:

  1. Organise your own walk
  2. Virtual challenge- whatever your favourite activity is, make it into a virtual challenge. For example, swimming the length of the channel at your local swimming pool or cycling to Paris on a static bike.
  3. Trek - like our superstar fundraiser Trevor featured below!

Trevor's Three Peaks challenge

Meet Trevor and his team who took on the Three Peaks challenge and raised over £1300 for Asthma UK! Read below for more about how and why he took on his active fundraising challenge.

“I wanted to organise some fundraising for Asthma UK as my son has asthma. He has been admitted to hospital 17 times, and at one point was on nebulisers every hour. I also wanted to take this opportunity to raise awareness, informing everyone that it’s so important to be proactive when it comes to asthma and to take it seriously.

My team and I decided to take on the three peaks challenge. Myself and the team shared our fundraising page with friends and family, created posters and contacted local press to boost publicity! We managed to raise a huge amount for Asthma UK as well as raising awareness of asthma as a condition. The challenge itself was a great experience and we received loads of support from Asthma UK’s Community team.”
