As a parent of a child with asthma, there can be a lot to think about and take action on to keep your child well, which is why Asthma UK offers advice and support to help you every step of the way. Unfortunately, this alone isn’t enough, and we need research to develop better treatments for asthma and better ways to manage it.
We fund world-leading asthma research and support much more across Europe, all with the aim of helping people with asthma.
We need parents of children with asthma to help
We need more parents of children with asthma to join our Research and Policy volunteers and work with us on a range of different research projects.
You don’t need to be a science expert, there’s no minimum time commitment for this role, and it can work around your busy life – you just need to have an interest in contributing to research, and a willingness to share your experiences as a parent of a child with asthma.
What are Research and Policy volunteers?
Research and Policy volunteers are everyday people. The group is made up of people who help us to decide which research to fund, where our priorities should be, and even scrutinise the progress of our funded research to ensure that each project will provide relevant outcomes for children with asthma.
We need more parents of children with asthma to become Research and Policy volunteers, so that they can help us to ensure that we are funding research which is relevant, useful and will generate impact for children with asthma.
