Our free will writing service

We’ve partnered with the National Free Wills Network and solicitors nationwide to provide a will writing service that is free for people who want to write or update a simple will.

Using the service leaves you under no obligation to leave a gift in your will to Asthma UK. However, after providing for your loved ones, please consider helping us stop asthma attacks and cure asthma with a gift in your will.

Your questions answered

Why does AUK offer a free will service?

We offer our free will service to help make it easier for you to write or update your will.

Can I use the free will service?

Anyone aged 55 and over can use the service. You can even use the service to write a mirror will with your partner.

However, there are a limited number of wills that can be written each year so this offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is any will free?

Most simple wills are free using our free will service.

Who’ll actually write my will?

We’re partnered with Law Society registered solicitors across the UK who’ll write the wills for our free will service – all you need to do is request a free will writing pack (links to submission form).

Do I have to leave AUK a gift to use the service?

While most people who use our service very kindly choose to leave a gift, you are under no obligation to do so. We understand that friends and family must come first. But we hope that when you use the service, you will consider leaving a gift to us.

How do I apply?

You can register by completing one of the forms above. You can also email legacies@asthma.org.uk or telephone Elle Cohen in our wills team on 0300 222 5800.

What happens when I request my free will writing pack?

We will send you a pack detailing the participating solicitors nearest to you. You can then choose which one you prefer and make an appointment, making sure you mention the National Free Wills Network.

During your appointment your will can be written according to your instructions. You will be asked to complete a confidential declaration form, which will be sent to us so that we can pay for your will at a discounted rate.
