Step Up for Asthma

Organise a fundraising walk for Asthma + Lung UK and help us stop asthma attacks and cure asthma

Organising some active fundraising doesn’t always mean you need to don your best lycra and stock up on energy gels. Sometimes simple is best. Why not arrange your own sponsored walk for Asthma + Lung UK? Organising your own walk means you get to pick a date and distance that suits you. It can also be a really lovely way of bringing the whole community together, from little ones to the older generations (and of course even the family pets!)

Asthma + Lung UK’s Community team will be here to support you every step of the way, and can provide you with sponsorship forms, t-shirts, balloons and even a banner for that perfect photo finish! Hear more from our case study Oliver about why he chose to walk to raise funds for Asthma + Lung UK…

"In order to fundraise for Asthma + Lung UK, I organised a 'Soup Walk'.

This was a ticketed event (about £10), offering a nice countryside walk, and a hot meal.

On the day people arrived at a central start point and collected maps for a gentle 7 mile walk, so they could go out their own pace. It finished in the local Methodist church hall, which was dressed with Asthma + Lung UK banners and balloons, and we offered a choice of soups, bread rolls and snacks. We also held a raffle on the day with local people and business donating prizes.

We had 80 people attend. The walk, plus raffle and other donations, has generated over a £1000 in donations. With guests finding it great value for money, a good day out, and keen for it to be repeated."

As if raising vital funds for Asthma + Lung UK and having fun wasn’t enough, walking is also brilliant for your health. In fact, regular exercise can even help reduce your asthma symptoms.

So what are you waiting for? Whoever you walk with, wherever you walk and for how far, order your fundraising kit today to help us give asthma the boot.
