Asthma research uncovered

Three amazing asthma researchers have got together to help raise £10,000 to help fund more life-changing work for people with asthma. You can now find out about the research they’re doing.

“My research is on the cusp of delivering results that could make a lasting difference to millions of lives.” says Dr Hans Michael Haitchi.

Understanding the ‘asthma gene’ – ADAM33 could revolutionise treatments for the millions of people in the UK with allergic asthma.

Hans Michael and his team have discovered that ADAM33 can make changes to the airways early in life, possibly even before birth. Babies born with these changes could be more sensitive to allergens such as house dust mites. Finding a treatment to stop ADAM33 could prevent people from developing asthma.

Do you want to help Hans Michael develop a cure for asthma?

One day ADAM33 and Dr Hans Michael Haitchi might be names children learn about at school. Preventing asthma or reversing the condition, could be as normal as the inhaler is today. However, none of this will be possible without the support of people you. Help support history in the making.
